I will be staying at the Grand Californian and will be purchasing two annual passes. Can I use my room charging priveledges to just go to the ticket booth and get the passes and not have to bring my stack of gift cards that I purchased at Target (to get 5% off) and then when I check out pay my whole tab, including the passes with my gift cards at the end?

Better yet, you can purchase your AP at the front desk when you check in.

Thanks for the quick response! Would I be able to do that if I have a AAA voucher for a two day pass and just pay the difference to upgrade or is that too complicated for what the front desk can do?

Oh you can? Wonderful! I need to buy ours with a Disney Vacation account so that is much easier than going to guest services at the parks. We will be at the VGC.

Ticket booth.

Typically, when you charge items back to your room, the staff will charge your credit card once it exceeds a certain amount. Two APs will probably cause that issue.
