I also didnt have any luck getting quotes from DU :( I might try again for our next trip, but this time we went with Deb at TMFL. Love her, she is awesome :) This is our first trip anywhere and she is really setting our minds at ease, its really nice.

I may be wrong, but is it possible that those of you with good DU experiences are booking higher priced rooms and the negative experiences are reported when seeking value resort rooms?

I used themagicforless.com

They automatically applied the codes to my ressie for me. I got to work this morning and the first e-mail I pull up is from Carol saying that she had gotten me the AP rate and saved me $800.

I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone and I will certainly use them for my next trip.

I am currently using DU for the fourth time. First time we booked at the Polynesian, but that was after booking at POR and upgrading when FTP came out. DU did a great job. Then, we went in Dec '03. Used DU again and stayed at AllStarMusic. Again, a great job. Then last Aug we used DU to add on the first two days of our trip at CR, before we moved over to BWV using our DVC points. No problem yet again. And to top that off, our agent tried calling us the night we arrived to make sure we were okay since we checked in right along with Hurricane CHarley. But, she couldn't get through until the next day and she left us a messege. Now, we are using them again to add on two days at the end of our trip in June. We were staying at AllStarMovies and got the AP rate for it. But are hoping to move up to POR. Our agent sent along an email letting us know the AP rates were coming out and did we still want to move up. But before I could get back to her, she had booked us at ASMusic. So, we're now waiting to see what happens with the change to POR. We love our agent and are really sad that we can't use her for longer visits but since we bought DVC we only get to use her for those 2-3 add-ons. Her name is Shirley and we love her to pieces. If you get a chance to read these Shirley...thanks!!!! A great service. And no matter what agent is assigned to you..you can ask for a different one. We always ask for Shirley. And I send her an email to let her know we are sending in a quote request so she can be on the look-out!!!

Nope, same service with deluxe as with value resorts.
Many people do not get the quotes because they have either entered a bad email address or it has gone to a spam/bulk mail folder. If you ever submit a request and don't hear back you should email the Dreams reservation email account.

c&ldisneylovers, for Universal I know that it depends on how the reservation was booked as to whether or not there is a change fee.

Well we used DU for the Grand Floridian in July....and I emailed this AM to see what up with the AP codes and still have yet to get a reply- so I don't think I'll be getting one..but my rate with AAA is not much higher than they are quoting with the AP code. She may still email me later with good news I hope. I am hanging in there with them and I'll let you know how I really feel about them after my trip. I am a huge control freak which I am just discovering about myself.

I used Dreams for a family trip involving 6 people and three rooms at CBR over 10 days. Lots of changes, different arrivals, PS for parties ranging from 2 to 5, last minute request for dinner at Castle...all flawless.

Last year's trip was two rooms at CBR. May is one room at CBR. Same outstanding service and excellent help with PS and tour arrangements.

I am so glad there are Disney specialist TAs, whether it's Dreams or another agency.

I could just hug Sue Ellen from Dreams Unlimited

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I can not get into my mail, but from the looks of things Sue Ellen from Dreams Unlimited saved us $1200.00 on our reservation for 2 rooms at WL Woods View June4th to 11th. We added a day to the stay checking out on the 12th so I am sure the savings is a bit more than the $1200. that she said she saved us.

I believe she saved us $244.00 on our reservation for 1 room WL Woods View June 1-4.
That total is over $1444.00. With the savings off the extra day that we added it will be a bit more. Could that be right? That is a lot of money!!!

Hip Hip Hurray for Sue Ellen!!
I am so happy to day!! This was all so much more than I thought it would be.

Another happy Sue Ellen fan. She handled our Feb trip, even got us an extra early day super close to the actual travel date. Also advised me to not pay for the pricier water view, book standard and see if we could get an upgrade at check in (we did, saved even more $$). SHe has put up with us through numerous resort changes for our upcoming trip in April, from WL to CR garden to CR tower to GF garden. Through all of this she has been pleasant and has returned emails in a timely manner. This morning I had her standard bulk one that she sent out advising that codes were out and also a reply to one that I had sent her late yesterday. Face it, these folks are probably swamped right now getting the AP applied to all of their clients existing ressies. I just dropped her a line and ask her to go trolling for me for June, we're not sure of actual dates or whick Deluxe DD9 wants for her birthday trip. The GF is for DD7's birthday, Kelly the 9 year old says she wants to wait till we get to the GF to see if she wants to go back there in June. I explained how the prices were running and she said that she'd be happy with the WL if the others were to costly. Gotta love this kid, concerned about how much money we have to pay for the room! Either that or she thinks if we stay cheaper we can stay longer or squeeze another trip in before school starts back. Kids are sneaky!

OK HAPPY HAPPY to report that while my agent Rhonda did not get the rate for us someone else in her office already had!! but it only got applied to two of my days(saving me $133 already) I am trying to get it for all 7 days we'll see(she seems to think another AP for the value season will come out) SO GO RHONDA! :cheer2:

I think that the website says that the commission DU makes from Disney is enough to sustain its business! :cool1:

edit: Sorry, I guess someone already said that. :earboy2:

My travel agent with Small World Vacations also got an AP rate applied to my reservation before I had gotten to work this morning. It was nice to walk into work and find that I had a great discount (Poly) applied to my reservation and I did not have to lift a finger. Others have said they were on hold for hours at a time. Much better to use a travel agent who specialize in Disney.

Was she able to get you the AP rate? We're using her for later in the year. Just wanted to know what kind of service you got with her. So far, we've been exceddingly pleased with her. Quick replies and good info.
