Use Disney Gift card at Downtown Disney restaurants?

Thought I might start "saving up" for our summer trip to DLR by putting $$ into Disney Gift cards...
But then it crossed my mind that we prefer to eat at the restaurants at Downtown Disney versus in the parks.

Do all the shops and restaurants at DD take Disney Gift cards?

Are some independenty owned and not actually Disney?

No they don't.

Are some independenty owned and not actually Disney?

Yes, they are. The downtown Disney restaurants are not owned by Disney and do not accept Disney gift cards. The same holds true for retail locations like Build a Bear, Lego store, etc. The places in DtD that accept Disney gift cards are the Disney-owned locations such as World of Disney, Marceline's, and a few others. Now, if you're interested in eating at some of the onsite hotel restaurants, they should take Disney gift cards.

...bu many of them DO offer AP discounts BTW, even Jamba Juice...just gotta ask.

Yep, and some offer 10% off for Disney Visa cardholders, DVC Members, and AAA members. Just gotta ask, like you said.

Come on, like you're not going to spend that "several hundred dollars".

I will say, be sure to search for Disney Gift Card Deals before buying large amounts of Disney Gift Cards.

The best deals are the 15% to 20% off you get from a Texas grocery store and a 20% to 24% off one you get from Target every December. And those discounts stack on top of any other discounts you get, like Disney Visa, DVC, AP, or AAA.
