So I know it's a loooooong time to go but I am crazy excited for my solo holiday in 2015.

Planning to do New York for 3 days, then Nashville for 6 days including CMA Fest. Then South Dakota for 4 days, Vegas for 4 days including a day trip to Grand Canyon, San Fran for 2 days and then finally Disney World for 6 days- including 1 day at Universal.

I have already started planning and think I will drive everyone crazy before I go with my countdown :)

Welcome to the Disboards Wrestlingchick. Your plans sound great.

I started planning my upcoming holiday in my head about 4 years ago. It's now 4 weeks away. Stick to your goal and you'll get there eventually :)

You're not crazy. We've just begun planning a visit for Christmas/New Year in 2015. :)

How exciting! Our first email to our TA was September 2012...we're now 10 days away from leaving!!! Happy planning!

Welcome to the boards :)

Three days in NY..... you may want more :rolleyes1

And I know it is a long way off, but you may also want to group you east coast and west coast part of the trips together :) Saves a lot of internal flights.

At this stage I am only thinking of flying San Fran to Orlando all the rest I am planning to do by hire car or greyhound. Because I want to b in Nashville at the start of June for CMA Fest and then be in Disneyland for my bday at the end of the month this was the best way I figured to do everything.

Will I need more than 3 days in NY? I have planned 3 fairly packed days but I think I can fit in all I want in that time.

Welcome!

Don't worry about starting to plan too early - I started planning my September 2014 trip about this time last year  And I'll be starting work on my 2015 trip as soon as they announce an opening date for Shanghai Disneyland!

Your trip sounds awesome! Some food for thought... my friend went to the US on her honeymoon, spent 5 nights in Vegas and 3 in NY. She was kicking herself that she didn't do it the other way, said the novelty of Vegas had worn off, and they didn't have nearly enough time in NY. Having said that, I don't think they did a day trip to the Grand Canyon. Speaking of which, make sure you 'do' something at the Grand Canyon - it's impressive to look at, but after a few minutes it kind of wears off. DH and I spent 3 nights in San Fran a couple of years ago. We had a great time, but it did feel pretty rushed.

Can I ask what you did in San Fran? That us the one part I'm worried I'm not spending enough time. I'm planning to do a San Fran visitor tour plus locals your which goes for 9hrs in 1 day then Alcatraz, duck tour and food tour on the other day,

I'm thinking of doing the cowboy ranch tour sigh the Grand Canyon, hey to horse ride through the Joshua trees. I got super sick at the Grand Canyon last time I went and didn't get to do anything that's why it's a must this trip.

We spent our first morning walking around. The trail took us to Chinatown, then the Cable Car Museum, the crooked street, then back down to Fisherman's Wharf in time for our cruise to Alcatraz Island. We did the night tour, which was great for seeing the city light up. Second day we walked along the foreshore from Fisherman's Wharf to Golden Gate Bridge, and walked about 1/3 of the way across the bridge. We then wandered around the Presidio (?) area looking for the Walt Disney Family Museum. When we finally found it it was closed :worried:

Sounds like you will be a lot more organised than us and should manage to get a bit more in, but we did enjoy the wandering. I feel like San Fran is a city I don't want to just rush around doing the usual touristy stuff. Next time I'd love to hire a bike and ride across the bridge :thumbsup2 PIO has spent a lot of time in San Fran and reading her TRs I realise that we didn't even scratch the surface.

What a shame you couldn't enjoy your time at the Grand Canyon properly last time :( You'll probably know what I mean about just standing there though ;) We did the overnight mule ride when we were there and loved it! The ride through the Joshua trees sounds like a great day activity :thumbsup2

Your time in San Fran sounds great too, I think the tour I am doing covering a lot of those areas but the other day I plan to walk around between tours. Oh and I am sooo eating at sotto mare. It sounds amazing.
I am going to do a night tour too, think it adds to the whole spookiness of the tour.

A nighttime mule ride sounds amazing. I was devastated I got so sick, think it was a little too much partying in Vegas with my contiki travelmates lol

Congrats on your next holiday and enjoy your planning..:-). We are returning May 2015 woohoo..planning has also begun here...yay!!

Returned from WDW 5 weeks ago today and now planning our first adults only trip in January 2015. You can never start too early! Have fun with it!

We are in NYC now. Just finishing up our first day of 10 and already feel like 10 days isn't enough!!! This place is amazing! Next stop WDW :)
