I believe that, if you re-new now, the new passport will be fine :thumbsup2

DH's expires in Feb 2007 so we're re-newing his when we return from Italy, next month :sunny:

The new bio- metric passport has been extended again as none of the main countries that visit the US has the technology in place so your new passport will have a digital photo & be machine readable so will be ok for the waiver programme
SD :thumbsup2

Hi,

I believe that if your passport is issued after 26th October this year and does not have the biometric chip you will need a visa. The passport office is currently sending out a mixture of the old machine-readable sort and the new biometric sort (a friend just renewed his whole family's and got one of the new ones and 3 old style ones).
I guess there is a chance that by October the passport office may be only sending out the new ones, and there is also a chance that the US may delay the date again. We are not taking any chances however and are renewing ours before October just to be on the safe side!

Thanks for the input guys it expired last week so we will get the form today!!,Thanks!!
