US - Viewing Spot for Parade and Fireworks

We are AP holders and going the first week of August.
Any suggestions for where to station ourselves for the parade and nighttime show?

for the nightime show, i like to be the area of the water in front of Mels restaurant

There isn't really a bad spot around the lagoon to watch it.

Outside Mel's at the water is good, and along the front of the Simpsons area right beside the water is nice too.
