US Resident Canadian Citizen documents required?

My family is going to be cruising on Sept. 19, 2004. With this date fast approaching I am trying to make sure we are prepared. I know myself and my children are covered as we are US citizens with valid b/c, but my husband is not. He is a Canadian citizen, but resides in the US with a Resident Alien Card. I was going to update his expired Canadian passport but have discovered we dont have his citizenship card and the time frame is now greater to get that and the new passport than we have before the cruise. What to do? I did call Disney Cruise and they told me that the Resident Alien Card was enough but of course im worried and dont want to be turned away at the docks. Has anyone else had this situation? We are so excited to be going I just dont want anything to go wrong.

Hi I am canadian and I also live in the US with a green card. My DH and DS's are US citizens. I am wondering what is the Canadian citizenship card? I have a birth certificate and had to have it re-issued since I lost my original one and they have an internet site for each province and I faxed the info and had a birth certificate in less than two weeks. I was born in Quebec and the only problem was that my mother had to interpret it for me because my french was a little rusty. I am in the process of sending in my passport info - they claim it takes about eight weeks.

More than likely the citizenship card is what was issued to him when he became a Canadian citizen from another country.
If you have a local consulate (and they are in some smaller cities you wouldn't expect) they can expedite a Canadian passport for you.

That's correct. Someone born in Canada wouldn't get a citizenship card. Someone who moved to Canada from another country and then became a citizen would.

You are correct he was born in Jamaica and moved to Canada.
