I have to mail some bills while I'm there. Anybody know where I can drop them? I'm staying at Poly.

They sell stamps at the front desk, so I would think you could just hand the evelopes w/postage to a person at the front desk. -Steph

That is my guess too. They should take care of that at the Front Desk.

In the past I've heard mail that is deposited in Disney Mail boxes (on site) is processed through their own system and the forwarded to USPS. Some people have reported mail taking a really long time sending it this way.

I would not suggest dropping them in one of the park mail boxes. I've sent postcards from the park numerous times, but on one trip two different friends said their postcards came with what looked like gum stuck to them!! Lately, I've been mailing stuff at DtD at the scrapbooking store so they get that cool postmark, but for a bill, who cares about the postmark right?

If you have transportation, you may wnat to drop them by the Lake Buena Vsita Post Office which is near Downtown Disney. I believe you turn left at state road 535 and go down to the next shopping complex - not sure of its name.

you mention a scrapbooking store at DtD. Really? is it new? Is it a separate store or part of another? Is there a post office there that gives a postmark?

Your going to mail bills when your there? Oh no..I am there and don't want to think about bills. But if I were you, does your bank offer free online bill pay. Just set the date and presto, no postage no problem. Unless you don't have the money in your account.

If you are paying bills and are concerned with timely delivery DO NOT post them from a WDW resort or park. crazy4wdw gave you general directions for the nearest post office but even easier is an actual USPS mailbox in DTD near the big Disney store. The mailbox is on the lane that parallels the parking lot.

I am not kidding about this. A couple of years ago some postcards that we sent from a WDW resort arrived later than cards sent from overseas at the same time. Regardless of where you send them in WDW they'll be postmarked Lake Buena Vista. If you are not concerned about the speed of delivery, drop them at a front desk or in a park. Otherwise, go to a USPS drop!

I just asked this very question on the "Theme Park" board....I was wondering if there was a place to get a "Disney" type postmark....Alyssa810 am I reading your post correct? You can get one in the scrapbooking store in DTD? Is that the "Disney's Wonderful World of Memories" store in Downtown Disney?

I don't know if I'd lump the speed of postcard delivery in with your bills. Postcards are not first class mail...they're going to be relatively slow no matter where you send them from.

Besides, don't the resorts have regular mail delivery? So a bill would end up in a regular pickup?

If you mail anything from your hotel or park it floats around property for about 3 days before it gets sent off to the USPS. We always suggest bills not be mailed from the hotel unless they are really ahead of the due date. As was mentioned your best options are to drop them in the Box in front of the World of Disney at the Marketplace, or the box at the Suntrust bank drive through across from DTD (these are both Blue USPS collection boxes which are picked up daily). Or use the other option offered and go to the post office which is as stated a left onto 535 from Hotel Plaza Blvd and it is in the shopping plaza on the right across from Chilis. The plaza has Steak N Shake in it...the post office is on the right side of the plaza...

Postcards with a stamp on them ARE First Class Mail and are handled as such by the USPS. The only ones that are not are those mailed in bulk at Standard Rate by businesses.

If possible, I'd mail your bills before you leave home.

We stayed at the Poly in October and mailed our postcards the day we got there - Friday, October 22 - by placing them in the mailbox at the front desk.

The earliest anyone received their postcards was November 3! Almost 2 weeks later! (We mailed them all to Indiana).

I don't know what the delay was, but, if you want to have your bills paid on time I wouldn't mail them from WDW.
