We have not been to US/IOA since 2000 and hardly remember it. I just remember a long walk from the car to the park and my dd being scared by King Kong.

Well, we will be there the week of Thanksgiving, staying in a house in Orlando. I am looking for any tips you all can give. We have a 7 day pass but will only be going to US/IOA 2 or 3 of those days. It will be 4 adults/ 6 teenagers. I have yet to look at operating hours but plan to be at the park before they open....with or without the children! lol

I have decided against the meal plan because I don't want to go in search of a place on the plan and I know the week we are going will be crowded.

TIA for you help!!

My best tip is don't go on the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving. It is very crowded then and, since you aren't staying onsite, the lines will be pretty long. Any other day will be good though.

I think we are going on Sunday or Tuesday and Wednesday before TG day

King Kong is not at Universal anymore so you have no worries there.

I actually prefer the multi-storey car parks , plus unlike at Disney you just park up and both the parks are there, just a very short walk from one to the other.

Whenever you go the best advice is always to get there early, even when crowds are not too high you can get a couple of hours early it gives you a good start to your day.

since you are staying off site, leave your hotel early.
be at the entrance of hte park at 8:30 before it opens.

if the line to get in is long, go to the back of the park and work your way forward. you will avoid crowds then.

eat at 11 or after 1:30 to avoid rush crowds.

eat at mythos, go before 2 as they usually close at 3 in the afternoon.
since you are going during a holiday time, that closing time might be different than what it was in the fall when i went.

if a line is going to be a 20 + wait, skip it and return later.
no sense wasting time in lines when you can do other attractions.

and, see everything not just the rides and attractions.

you will enjoy your visit to universal if you do not feel rushed.
