We are planning on staying at on of the US resorts on May 30 & 31st this year prior to our checkin at AKV. We are planning on purchasing the 7 day unlimited passes and going back to US/IOA several times during the first week of our vacation. While we were originally only planning to stay at RPR for the first 2 nights, I was thinking of booking the 5 for 3 promo in order to have the FOTL access for additional days. (We would still use the room for afternoon/pool breaks and possibly stay for an extra night or two.) So if we check in on May 30th and check-out of June 4th, we would have FOTL access until the end of the day on the 4th right? Does it make sense to do this? I do not have AAA (yet) but could get a membership cheap but I also have a Loews First card. Would either give me any more of a discount on the package?

Is it worth the extra ~$300 to have that FOTL access for the extra few days?

Yes, you would have FOTL until the parks close on June 4th.

If your budget can afford it, I think the FOTL access is always worth it. But it will also be well worth it to have the room available for breaks and pool access. With the FOTL, you can hit everything you want, have a leisurely lunch, have a swim and then go back in the evening to experience the rides in the dark.
