US/IOA June 13th-20th

We haven't been the last few years and have always gone in late May or very early June. I'm concerned about crowds but can't afford the onsite hotel prices (last time I booked RP it was $99).

I saw an Express Plus pass (or something like that) that was about $35 on the Universal website. It sounded like it was the same thing as onsite FOTL. Has anybody used it, and any cheaper places to buy it?

Also, if you've been there during this timeframe, how are the crowds?

It's not quite like on site. You can use it only once per ride or attraction (although sometimes they don't look too closely).

Unless things have changed recently, you can only buy it in the parks.
