We are going on a DIsney cruise in a few weeks and we need something to do for a few days to a week in the area after we return. We have considered WDW for the umpteenth time but I'm also looking at maybe something different.
I tried to get on the US website but it's down right now. I went to US in 1991 as a high schooler and enjoyed it but mostly rode the thrill rides and I'm sure it has changed drastically since then. Is there enough to do for my children? I don't know the difference b/t US and IofA. Should we do both? How long (how many days)should we aim for if we went?
TIA!

The 8 yr old should be able to do just about everything. The little ones may have a harder time but the playgrounds and Seuss land should provide a good amount of entertainment. A lot of the stuff in US has no ride height req but they are loud and some kids will not like it.

I think its def worth the trip and imo you should do both parks to get the full experience. There is a nice water play area in US with Barney, ET, playground and a ball play area for your older kid to enjoy.

Difference in the parks is IOA has the thrill type....water rides, big coasters etc. US has mostly themed type rides like Jaws and Disaster. I suggest 2 days possibly even 3 so you can take things rly slow and enjoy the whole theme etc.

Also, if you can, try to stay onsite. The pool at the RPR would be great for the little ones as well as your DS and the pool at HRH is a ton of fun and has a water slide. Both make the trip to US/IOA easier with kids becuase you have the boat or pedicabs and then the FOTL keycard is wonderful. Trying to wait in a line for 30 to 60 minutes with a young one can make you want to pull all your hair out :scared1: so being able to wait a short amount of time with the FOTL is the way to go with kids IMOA.

:thumbsup2

I really second the Staying on Site. It is sooooooooooooooooooooooooo worth it. It makes the whole experience just wonderful and relaxing also. The front of the line access is really to die for. After doing it, we won't even go if we aren't onsite, lol. Everything is within walking distance including City Walk also, not just the parks, and the resorts are just wonderful. :thumbsup2

I have to agree with the staying onsite with little ones. It's like staying in one of the monorail resorts for the convenience, but even more convenient! And once you get the FOTL perks, it's hard to go back to long lines ever again. :thumbsup2
