It should be called Waffle House Work Ethics
Let me tell you, for those of you who aren't lucky enough to have a Waffle House in your area (or for those who can't appreciate their charm)---the folks that work at ANY waffle house are some of the hardest, most efficient, working folks ever.
They never stop moving, always find something to do (without having to be told)--if all customers have been served they wash dishes, sweep, refill containers, etc....all while chatting with "regulars" and making everyone feel welcome. The bills are hand written, and hand calculated, and they all appear to have the menu memorized because they always know what everything costs (no computers involved there).
Of course, every once in a while, a bad egg waitress comes along--but very rarely.
It's too late for us "old folks" but maybe Waffle House can bring the American Work Ethic to its much needed high point.
