US for the Shrek-sized?

I remember hearing before that Universal is not as fat-friendly as Disney. (I know they call it Pooh-sized on the Disney boards, but I thought Shrek-sized was more appropriate for Universal). As a large economy-sized individual (women's size 26-28), I would like to know before going what attractions I might have trouble fitting into in order to avoid embarrassment. Anybody have any experience with this and any tips to offer? TIA.

I'm sorry, please don't take this the wrong way, but I love the term "shrek sized" (more forgiving the Ogre sized too!)

In front of any attractions that require you in a seat and strapped in, there will be "test seats" out from (ie - hulk, dueling dragons, mummy, maybe Dr. Dooms free fall?) So just test them out there.

I will tell you this - MIB...it's a snug fit for me (width wise) and I'm a size 8-10...but I have seen Shrek Sized people on it.

Can I be Fiona sized?

They do have test seats, and the Hulk has big people seats (DH had to use one), DS and I did MIB without any problems.

Just check the test seats and you'll be fine!

I had more problems at DL then at US/IOA.

go to rows 3 and 6 in all rides . these seats are better suited for "fiona" sized people. I fit in the seats just fine and don't think you will have a thing to worry about.

I would also try the test seats. A lot depends on how you are big. The mummy is dependent primarily on thighs, Hulk and DD are dependent on chest and seat. When I went last September, I was able to ride mummy fine but had trouble with Hulk and DD.

If you try to ride ROTM and they can't "shut" the restraint enough, they'll move you to the back row where there's more leg room.

Thanks for the help, guys. TinkBoo, I never thought of calling it Fiona sized...but I have to make it clear it's postwedding Fiona!

Johde, I have no intention of riding Hulk or DD, so I won't have to worry about them, but I probably will try the Mummy. Besides, we're only going to the Studios (not IOA), so I only need to worry about the attractions there.

Metro West, I can't for the life of me think what ROTM is. Is it at the Studios or IOA?

Never mind, figured it out myself. Revenge Of The Mummy, Duh. As DH would say, "No point in being stupid if you don't show it." :guilty:

Are a tight fit. If you're Fiona size, the problem will be the seat itself, not the restraint. The "big boy seats" have a different locking mecanism and different seatbelt configuration that allow the restraint to lock a bit higher, but the seat is the same as the rest of the train. I'm not Shrek size... but tall and so I'm a tight fit on the regular seats due to my shoulders.

I did notice the seats on Dr. Doom are a bit wider, so perhaps that will do.

Like it was said, the thighs are usually what don't allow you to ride the Mummy. Me and my friend tried to ride Batman and Robin: The Chiller at Six Flags New Jersey (same restraints as Mummy). We are both the same, tall height. He has bigger thighs and so, could not get the extra seatbelt (on Chiller, it basically serves as a go/not go system to make sure the bar is down enough) to lock while me, I had room to spare.
