If i'm getting cash there are a couple of places by London Victoria station I always use. They're always a couple of points higher than elsewhere. $1.72 last time I looked

I pre-order with travelex and pick up at the airport. I mainly use my post office credit card which gives a good exchange rate.

I just pre-ordered some dollars along with some euros from Travelex. Think their rate was 1.64. Didn't get that much as I have a cash card which I plan to use more of

I use money saving experts travel money comparison site.
It gives you options for delivery, collection and compares most places

Travelex, order online, pickup at local office. Small amount only.
The rest of the cash is withdrawn at ATMs in Florida.

I use http://travelmoney.moneysavingexpert.com/ to find the cheapest price for Central London collection.

Bigger purchases at the Mall go on a credit card but I take enough cash for all meals (if not on dining plan) and other expenditure.

Tesco was offering 1.671 yesterday

We have a fairfx card so use that

We have Fairfx card which can be a good rate (currently 1.648) as I worry having too much cash even in the hotel safe.

We normally also get a small amount in cash from either post office online (1.6460 at moment) or Tesco (1.6455), whichever is best deal that day.
