US and IOA in September

We will be touring US and IOA in late Sept. on school days. I had originally planned on staying at the Nick hotel. Now, since they stopped their express pass system, I am worried about my plans. Will the lines be long then? Will we be able to do everything (one day each park) without the passes? Or should I skip the Nick hotel and stay on-site? That would probably cause a riot with my kids!

Don't even sweat it.

We always go in late September, and during the week, there is hardly ever a wait at all...in fact, some of the rides just shuttle everyone through the same entrance, on-site guests or not.

February and September are the best months to go.

The place is a ghost town in the morning. In the afternoon, some people show up, but the waits are 10-20 minutes at the most. Enjoy the short waits and realize that during the summer and peak months, it's packed.

One time, we had someone come in here and say they left the park because no one was there and it felt empty. How funny.

The reason you'd want to stay onsite, is if you want to walk back and forth to the parks, plus the pools are really cool. If you're ok with driving over, and the Nick hotel has a cool pool, then things will turn out the same.

As a previous poster stated ,during the week the only ride I would expect to queue any length of time for would be Shrek but even at that only 20-30 mins,weekends though are a different story but again the wait might only be 45 mins which coming from someone who onced queued for Spiderman for 3 hours,that's a drop in the ocean!! The only thing wrong with Sept is that you can never predict the weather! 3 of our trips have been total washouts & the others have been brilliant weather!!
