Hi all, I am planning a trip to WDW mid October, I've been looking around for a decent flight price and have come across US AIRWAYS from Gatwick travelling indirect, my question is, has anybody travelled with this airline and what sort of experience did you have?

Been with them twice but I lose track of which airline offers what.
Don't think they were anything special but OK. I remember BA the worst to New York and BMI the best via Chicago, all others like AA, Continental, US etc got us from A-B.

Been with US Airways a few times and if you can connect via Charlotte then the next flight is shorter than changing at Philly.

Thanks Andy B, the flight I am looking at does connect via Charlette, how did you find the airline company and flights, I always travel coach class so I'm not expecting too much, Andy, you say you've flew a few times with US Airways so would you recommend them?

Thanks
Pete

We found that US Air was OK, better than our experience of American and about the same as Delta, Virgin. The connection process was fine.

I've been with Virgin, BA, Monarch and Thomson, looks like I'll be going with US Air now, BA and Virgin are quite abit more expensive for the same dates. thanks for your replies Andy.

I'm travelling with US Airways in Oct. too for the first time (got a good deal). :)

Did you book direct with US Air or via a 3rd party?

Airline Network were giving me a decent price for a 3 week flight

I think we have booked both ways in the past, it's may well be worth checking with the US airways UK site, flight consolidators like Expedia, ebookers etc do not always have all the flight options.

have used us airways twice, once to las vegas, connection in philly & once, when we travelled round, first flight was to new orleans, again the connection was in philly, then we picked another flight up,in atlanta,to fly to tampa, with a connection in charlotte, all in all, every flight was on time, all the connections went smoothly, apart from the connection to las vegas, where the time was very tight, fortunately,we weren't the only ones, they were waiting for,so they held the plane for us,it was very close.
we would use them again,i think the seat pitch was 33in,which makes a difference.
united,is my favourite airline though,we flew to hawaii & florida, with them in,in 06,because the seats are wider, than US,i found it to be a really comfortable flight.we are travelling with them, again this year.
you won't have any problems with US & i think flying scheduled, instead of charter, gives you less chance of delays.
tracy

Thanks everybody for the advice, just booked the US Airways flight, direct from the UK site :cool1:

It was all started by a mouse!!
