US Airways - Online Check-in?

I want to use the online check-in to print my boarding passes. I have bags that I will need to check when I get to the airport. The last time I did this, I printed my boarding passes online and tried to use a kiosk to check my bags at the airport. I had a problem, though. When I tried to use the kiosk, it said it couldn't find my reservation. I ended up getting someone behind the counter to help solve the problem. I don't want to do curbside check in, but will if that is the only way. Has anyone else had this problem?

What did you use at the kiosk to call up your reservation? Your credit card or dividend miles card? I've never had a problem using the USAir kiosk with either.

I'd like to know this also. I've never printed boarding passes at home and then checked bags at the airport. Has anyone done this? Is it worth printing the passes at home?

I do this all the time with USAirways. I just show my boarding pass at curbside, or at the ticket counter and then they print the luggage tags. Also haven't had any problems using the kiosk.

Usually I do it to get a better seat. They open up seats that they were holding for preferred frequent flyers. On my last trip on USAir to MCO, I was on a business trip by myself and I had middle seats both ways. I did online check-in and got window seats. You also get bonus miles, 1,000 the first time and 100 each time after that.

DebbieB - I used my Dividend Miles card at the kiosk.

safetymom - If I understand correctly, all I would need to do is go to the ticket counter where the kiosks are located and show them the boarding passes I printed from home? I don't need to use the kiosk at all?

I don't know why your dividend miles car didn't work at the kiosk. Was your dividend miles # on your reservation?

If you want to check your luggage at the kiosk, you still need to use the kiosk machine. You have to put how many bags you are checking and go through the screens, your luggage tags then print behind the counter and an employee picks them up and attaches them to your luggage. You could also get in the regular counter line, then you would not need to use the kiosk. I try to use curbside check when available, then park the car. Less dragging stuff around.

I called US Airways to try and get clarification. They told me to print my boarding passes online. Then, proceede directly to a ticket counter behind the kiosks and present my boarding passes to a representative who will attach the luggage tags to my baggage. They clearly stated I did not have to use the kiosk since I already checked in fom home. Maybe that is where I made my mistake last time.
