I feel like I got a steal on air tickets yesterday. 12/14-12/23, flying from CLT to MCO, $137 a person. I just wanted to let you all know in case someone was looking for a great deal! I was planning to drive, but condensing 10 hours of driving with my 3 girls to a 1-1/2 hour flight? Well worth the small extra cost!

Now.... can someone point me towards a great car rental? I have scoured the threads, but unsure about using the codes, especially when they say on the car agency screen that "you may be required to present the coupon." Ack! I haven't rented a car in ages!! But we are staying at POR, and I am not doing that again without a car. Would you all say that $240-ish for a midsize SUV/standard is decent? I am certainly not finding those great rates I keep reading about, you all must be amazing!

If you use www.hotwire.com a Standard for those dates would be $194.32, and a Mid-size SUV would be $216.32. Those prices are taxes included. I've used Hotwire before and you are guaranteed a car from Alamo, Avis, Budget, Enterprise, Hertz or National. The only thing is you need to pay in full at the time of reserving the car, and there are no refunds. However, they are usually significantly cheaper than going through the rental companies themselves.

Congrats on the cheap airfare! The best way to book a car is to keep checking and making the reservations on the car rental site. Every time the price drops you cancel your original reservation and rebook. Car rental rates fluctuate insanely throughout the course of a day sometimes. I have a car booked out of MCO for the 3rd through the 10th for a midsize for 82 a week +taxes with Enterprise. When I originally booked it, it was 196 a week and has gone as high as 385 for the week. It's pretty much a scam but thankfully the reservations have nothing against you canceling, at least Enterprise doesn't.
