Does anyone know if US Air gives vouchers if your airfare drops after you book your tickets? We are going to St. Thomas in a couple of weeks, and I noticed yesterday that the price for our flights has dropped by $50 per ticket. Also, if vouchers are given, are they transferable, or can they only be used for future travel for the same passenger?

I have gotten USAir vouchers when the price has dropped. It is my understanding that they are not transferrable. And they are a good for a year from when the voucher is issued (I believe they must be applied to a fare within a year, not necessarily that you must actually take the flight within a year.)

Please don't take this the wrong way, but the only way to get a definitive answer is to call US Airways! Different rules apply to different fare types, so what worked for one person here will not necessarily work for another. And don't delay! Those fares change with the wind.

A friend got vouchers from them last year and they said to use the vouchers for a new ticket you must buy the new ticket in person at the airport ticket counter, not internet. I would also think you could go to a city ticket office.

DebbieB is correct. We got a voucher from US AIR for our daughter when her fare to Orlando dropped by $60. It has to be turned in at the airport and is non-transferable.

So basically we lost the difference($60) because we had already booked our other trips already on another airline for FF miles(Continental) for the year. It is only good for 1 year from the date of the voucher.
