Although it wouldn't pay much, I was REALLY hoping to be a long term sub as a librarian. Well, someone came in with full credentials. So, there goes that.

Although I am a certified teacher, I have to attend a sub orientation Sept 9 before being placed on the sub list.

I know when a door is closed, a window opens.....but I thought this was my window!! I am sitting here crying over a job that probably would not have paid enough, but at least it would have gotten my foot in the door!!!

My sympathies are with you. It's hard to find that open window sometimes. DH has been out of work over 2 years and we keep trying to find that window, but it seems like all the doors and windows are firmly shut.

All I can say, is keep looking and keep trying.

Best wishes are with you.

{{{hugs}}} to you Carol. You will find the right window. Hang in there.

I promise Carol, not only will a window open for you, but a sliding glass door will! You hang in there.

My DH was out of work for 15 months & we had just moved to MI from Calif & we had a 6 week old baby & no health insurance. It was a very scary time. My DH was able to get some temp jobs here & there through all the agencies he had signed up with (6 in all) & one of his temp jobs was with Blue Cross. After nearly a year, a position opened at B/C & he applied for it & got it. He LOVES working for them & our insurance bennies are wonderful.

Please know that people are thinking of you & sending good energy.

This is the right time of year for a lot of windows to fly open - and usually where you don't expect them. I remember waiting for a job opening at this time of year. When I had finally given up by the end of October, I got a position in November.

Sorry you didn't get the job, Jamsmom.:( When I was job hunting, I did a lot on online searches with my local state/county departments. Have you tried that?

Hello jamsmom:wave:

I would have to agree with everyone here that a door will open one day soon. Have you ever considered working from home using the internet? Maybe taking an online course which leads to an online job? Just trying to help out.:D

I'm sorry, Carol....*HUGS*
