I've been checking the room only discount every day, and today it finally opened up for my dates (Nov 4-9) but only in the "preferred" category. I'm wanting to stay in Acadian or Magnolia in the new queen beds. Are there any rooms there preferred or are the preferred only in Alligator Bayou? I'm afriad to ask the disney phone operators this question, they never know anything. And I need to act on this quickly since the discounts seem to disappear in one day!

I would take what they have available now, time is running out and ask to be moved when you check in, ( " oh goodness, I had my heart set on staying in the Magnolia " :) I am sure the Resort isn't booked to capacity for those dates

Preferred rooms at PORS are only AB 14, 15, 18, and 27.

Not booked to capacity, but they are going through a major refurb and several rooms are out of inventory around that time.

That is why preferred is the only option coming up for that date under the room only discount.

If you book preferred and then ask to be moved to the mansions, you'll lose money since you're paying more for preferred. We stayed in Acadian House at the end of September but in a King room. We found the new bed to be hard and only aesthetic stuff was new and different (plus the TV which was nice). But knowing this, I wouldn't hesitate to stay in a non-refurbished room there.

We are staying at POR in a few weeks for the first time. I see you stayed in a King room. Do these rooms have a tub and shower? Or are all the king rooms handicap accessible with just the walk-in shower? Was the new bed uncomfortable?

Maybe I'm not understanding, but we stayed in Acadian in Aug, and everything was new, the rooms were totally striped bare, and even the airconditioning units were new.
Our beds were comfy.

The king bed room are a combination of handicapped accessible and non-handicapped accessible.
