Hi there,
I hope that someone can help. We are flying from England in two days time to head for WDW and then on to the 3 night bahamas cruise. We have booked through DVC, and received confirmations, cabin number etc, but no cruise pack. I have just looked at the cruise line web site, and found that the second night of the 3 night cruise is pirate or tropical, and the final night is dress up night.
Can anyone please explain what exactly dress up night is(Smart jacket or full tux?) and also tropical night. We are travelling with DS6 and DD2, will DS be expected to wear jacket for dress up night.
Any help would really be appreciated, as I might have to squeeze extra clothes into the cases, and spend the next two days sitting on them trying to close the things!!!
Many thanks

The Wonder cruise is much more casual than the Magic which has both a formal and semi-formal night. If you planned dress up clothes you'll be fine, but anything that you and the children would wear for a nice dinner out would be fine.

Will you be on the Wonder from July 7th - 10th??

We are taking that cruise. PM me and let me know.

You do not have your cruise package yet? I would call DCL immediately and see what the hold up is, while it might be in the mail, you do live in England and need this prior to sailing.

I agree with WDWLVR that anything you'd wear to a nice dinner will suffice for dress-up night. We just returned from the Magic cruise to Mexico and dress-up night ranged from one or two men in tuxes and the rest in either suit jackets or just nice shirts and ties. There were two little boys in tuxes on the ship that I saw that evening but I learned later they were also having a formal family portrait taken. Most of the kids under 12 had slacks and polos...a few dress shirts. There are always some who don't really participate in the "dress up" aspect of it but since shorts are not supposed to be worn in the dining room, at least all the gentlemen are wearing slacks. Very few ladies had on full evening dresses...most were "cocktail" attire.

Tropical/Pirate night (at the same time) can be as simple as a "Hawaiian" flowered shirt. My DS9 just wore one of his favorite t-shirts. It's black and has a skull on the front which is wearing a pirate cap and has an eye patch. Underneath it are the words "It's all fun and games until someone loses an eye!" LOL! Also, when we arrived at our dining rotation, each of us had a pirate scarf at our place, courtesy of Disney. Almost everyone put them on--the servers helped. My Ds9 and DD11 brought props to the pirate party afterward. We pinned a stuffed parrot to my DS's shoulder and he carried a saber we'd bought in the gift shop. My DD wore a dangly earring and eyepatch, also from the shop.

Just got back from a 3-night Wonder cruise a couple of weeks ago. There was no formal (or dress up) night. The dinner for Pirate Night was a normal dinner. You do get a pirate bandana, but very few people had any tropical or pirate clothing on. Also, they have stopped the Pirate Night special dinner, but the Pirate celebration still takes place on deck on the night you leave Nassau (Friday night).

Regarding your documents, I have heard of people picking them up at the DCL terminal when they did not get them ahead of time, but I agree that you need to call DVC or DCL and find out what to do. You won't be able to get on without your doc's.

As stated above, the 3 night cruises are much less formal than the 7 night. Have a great trip!
