Here's a wonderful cake recipe that won't heat up your kitchen in the summer. :thumbsup2 With a scoop of ice cream, it also hits the spot in winter.

Upside Down Chocolate Pudding Cake

1 cup Bisquick
1 cup sugar
1/3 cup and 3 Tbsp. unsweetened cocoa
1/2 cup milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 2/3 cup hot tap water

Mix bisquick, 1/2 cup sugar, 3 Tbsp. cocoa, milk and vanilla. Spoon batter evenly into lightly greased crockpot. Mix remaining sugar, cocoa and hot tap water. Pour over the batter that is already in the crockpot. Cook on high 2 1/2 hours or until batter no longer looks shiny on top.

*Note:* This ends up looking like a cake from the top, but when you slice (scoop) the cake, there is a layer of pudding underneath it. Very rich! Serve warm.

I tried another recipe I found on the crock pot thread that sounds like a similar result. I'll try this one too. Dessert, especially chocolate, is always a hit in my house. :teeth: BTW, we only drink skim milk. Will this recipe work fine with it?

I haven't tried it with skim. It works fine with 2% milk. :)

This sounds fabulous- I am imagining it with coffee ice cream and chocolate syrup on top. I will have to make this on my next "cheat" day. Thanks!

Tried this recipe, and loved it. Was craving a good chocolate dessert but with this heat didn't want to turn on the oven. This crockpot recipe was perfect!

This sounds great...Disney BF is a chocolate NUT but I don't want to do too much baking in the heat...I will definitely be trying this soon.

I make it often for potlucks. It is a huge hit. It is very good with vanilla icecream.
