Just out of curiosity on a black out date how do they know if you are exempt because you're staying on site?

you show you onsite hotel easypass ID (its a little card/slip you get when you check in at your hotel), along with your AP, at the park turnstiles. This worked perfectly well for me on my last trip a couple of months ago, our check-in day was a fantasy pass blockout date, we visited both the main park and the studios park that day after we checked in at our hotel, and the CMs at each park happily let us through the turnstiles with the easypass and APs.

Im assuming you need to show your hotel easy pass which you are given on check in at the hotel

Yes it is included at all the Disney hotels although Sequoia Lodge doesn't have a cooked breakfast unless you are booked into a Golden Forest Room.

We had cooked breakfast in a standard room at the beginning of January. Has this now stopped?

I also have a DVC but rented out points and then took the money to pay for a hotel. I did the math and it just didn't work for us. Enjoy DLH, we have stayed a few times and it is magical.
