Has anyone had any experience with being "upsold" on a resort stay lately? I did a very last minute trip last year in August and initially requested the CBR but was offered the BC @ around $150 a night. In retrospect that was an unbelieveble rate! With all the codes, post cards and e-mails flying around lately I was just wondering if that was still a practice of CRO. Thanks, Maggie

I've heard of that but haven't been to WDW yet so don't have that experience. I did read , I think in the Unofficial Guidebook, that you can sometimes get an "upsell" if you ask about a higher priced resort first then say something like "oh, I'm afraid that's a bit above my budget this trip, how about (other resort with lower rate)?" I guess the CRO/WDTC CMs have something come up on their screens at times that prompts them to offer the first resort at a better price than originally quoted.

Like you, I'd like to hear what others' experience has been. This almost sounds like some of the "magical" upgrades that posters have mentioned. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for some of that magic but will be quite content with the magic already booked ;)

There was a warning, though, to not use the term "upsell" when talking to a CM as that will usually result in no upsell opportunity :).

I didn't even know what the term upselling meant until after I booked the trip and found the term on Mousesavers. With all the recent discount codes being released, I was just wondering if anyone out there has had that experience of getting a discount without a code lately. Maggie
