I really hate UPS right now. I placed an order and it was shipped UPS. On Thurs the tracking said it was out for delivery. Well Thurs is had snowed and rained and was also somewhat icey and didn't end up getting delivered. The tracking showed Emergency conditions beyond UPS' control. Fine understandable. Well Friday it says it was out for delivery. Weather was perfectly fine, didn't get delivered again for the same reason. Guess what, it is out for delivery again today and I just looked at the tracking and same thing. What's funny is that the UPS truck was on the other side of the street about 5 or 6 houses down when I got home from work and I heard it drive past my house.

I am going to call tomorrow and see what they have to say. There is no reason that it shouldn't have been delivered today. There is nothing preventing the driver from being able to get to my front door, USPS and FedEx have had no problems.

I feel like UPS is holding my Loft.com order hostage.

Not a fan here either.

Our driver (usual guy - been here a million times - KNOWS driveway is nearly impossible to navigate when it's icy) decided to leave our package IN A SNOWBANK near the end of the driveway (which happens to be almost 700 feet long).

Said package contained $12,000 worth of medication.

The only reason we even knew it was there was because our next door neighbor saw him leave it and called us.

Needless to say, UPS got a call from us a few minutes later.

I am right there with you today. We had a delivery for Friday and the driver said that my house is vacant! Sorry that no one shoveled while we were at work :confused3:confused3 we get a least one package a week... They frustrate me.

I concur they are late delivering my wedding invitations due to this emergency status.... and we made sure to do the driveway twice a day incase they came so they wouldn't skip the house:(

Interesting. I had the same message tracking a package last Wednesday - first that deliveries were delayed, then halted (or some such thing) due to terrible weather. I called UPS to try to get it held; it took two calls, but someone was able to arrange that without an actual delivery attempt.

I understand this doesn't work for everyone. UPS is on one of the routes I can take to work, and I pick up there so frequently, I can tell the phone reps the information they usually give the customers, and the people at the counter know me :teeth:

I had the same problem before Christmas. But it was FEDEX. I was expecting a delivery on 12/16 and it snowed. We have a really long, steep, gravel driveway and you need 4 wheel drive to get up in the snow. So, no delivery. 3 days, 4 days, 5 days later and still no package. I contacted FEDEX on 12/23 and they gave me the usual bs about "Emergency Conditions", beyond their control, blah, blah, blah. They assured me the package would be there that day. Didn't happen. Finally, on Christmas Eve, I had to call the terminal and speak to someone there. What he finally told me was that my driver was a week behind:scared1: in deliveries(because of the 3 storms we had before Christmas and the Christmas rush). They were sending out extra drivers that day, just to finish up his route. Finally, around noon, they delivered my package.

In the meantime, UPS had made about 5 deliveries over that same week. 2 times they left packages with neighbors. 2 times the driver actually walked up our snow covered driveway to deliver the packages. And did I mention that this driveway is steep and long.:worship:

My main UPS gripe...

A package for me was showing as "left in front yard," but it wasn't there or anywhere else around my house. I contacted UPS, but they wouldn't speak to me as I wasn't the shipper (they said). So I contacted the shipper, who spoke to UPS, who then put a tracer on the package. 10 days later, UPS knocked on my door, looking for the missing package...

I think I just stared at the guy for a minute. It then seemed to dawn on him and he said, "Oh...never mind."

I don't like UPS. In fact, most mailing services have been driving me nuts lately. My biggest problem with UPS is that our package goes "out for delivery" very early in the morning, and my understanding is that they stop delivery at 5 or 6.. but I often get knocks on the door at 9:30 PM from our UPS guy. I live basically in the city, so it isn't the best/safest idea to open the door for anyone at 9:30 PM, even someone claiming to be UPS. Never had any issues, but I hear stories all the time that scare me. I'd rather they just bring it back out the next day and deliver it first thing in the morning than have to answer the door at 9:30 PM, in my nightie.
