UPS seeming to go xtra mile to get parcels delivered

After a couple of Christmas seasons of woe with UPS, it seems this year, they are going all out.

Last week, one of those "surepost" parcels -- the ones that are supposed to be delivered by UPS to a nearby U.S. Postal Service office and then delivered by the "mail person," was delivered by the regular UPS guy, saving at least two days.

This morning, I got an e-mail saying UPS was going to be delivering a package TODAY -- knowing UPS does not deliver on Sunday and checking their website and seeing them say THEY DO NOT deliver on Sunday, I thought it was a scam.

But, sure, enough, here comes UPS with the package late Sunday afternoon.

All I am trying to say, is if you had bad experiences the past couple years and have a choice in the next day or so, you might give the Big Brown another thought.

Whew, Sunday delivery. It required a signature of an over 21 person. Looks like some sort of wine basket gift -- of course the return address of Wine Country sort of gave me a big clue.

UPS's system is designed such that if they are coming to your address already with a regular UPS package, they will also bring along any Surepost packages that are at the right place in the system for them to intercept. It's really just a money saving technique for them - that way they don't have to pay the post office any fees.

Wish my experience was a good as yours. One package that was supposed to be delivered 2-day (to arrive on a Thursday) did not get there until Monday. One package sent over night to deliver on Tuesday did not get there until Wednesday.

And to top it off a package that was suppose to be picked up on Thursday for delivery on Friday is now not scheduled to pick up until Monday.

I saw a UPS truck deliver to a neighbor today (Sunday) as well.

Ups has done a great job. I also got a Sunday package!

UPS will never again have my business. After double charging me on my last two deliveries and trying to clear that up which took close to six months and threats to send my already paid bill to collections. No way will I ever use them again.

I love my UPS guy - he literally is RUNNING from house to house - business to business.

UPS has been doing great- I get packages several times a week. It looks like my regular driver is working with a helper who runs to several houses while he is parked in the area.

UPS had missed its forecasted delivery window on 3 out of 7 packages for me this month. I normally love Brown, but my mileage is varying considerably from yours.
