Uphill on a Flat Tire in the Pouring Rain and it's Still Magic!! *Final Update 7/21*

Great Alice dress! My DD could be anything she wanted for Halloween as long as I could make it from $4 WalMart sweats. She went out s a Beanie Baby more times than I can count....

I have to tell you that in one of your close-up pictures the glitter on your DD's cheek shows up so well I thought there was something on my computer screen. But when I couldn't clean it off I realized it must be glitter!

We don't have little ones any more (DD's out of college now) but one or two trips ago we went to see Turtle Talk with Crush anyway and it was hilarious. Sorry the little one didn't like it. Give her a year and try again?

When we were kids my sister went as a bunny, pink sweats with ears and a tail like 20X

LOL :rotfl2: that wasn't :tink: pixie dust, that dress was brand new and shedding glitter like crazy! It was everywhere.

Yeah, Miss RR has no idea but we booked a Disney Cruise for next Feb and I can't wait to eat in the Animators Palette and have another visit from Crush, I'm sure she'll love it.

Let's Get You Girls Fed

So, like I said I was really worried about DCiL & MM who had to be starving & it was really hot at this point :sunny: The Mulan dress went back in the bag & we left the world showcase. We headed for the grab & go under the Garden Grill whose name escapes me. You know in the building with The Land.

So, I decided (which was fine) & announced (which turned out to be a bad call) I'd buy RR her first Mickey Bar :mickeybar and we'd share it, inside in the a/c.

The ramp into the Land  is like 409,879,239.2 miles long! It SUCKED because we were hot & tired. Luckily, a stranger took pity on me somewhere near the halfway point & pushed me inside.

DCiL & MM grabbed lunch and then I went to find a Mickey Bar :mickeybar, but guess what they didn't have? You guessed it. After lunch/snacks/potty break we considered riding The Land, but it said 20min wait (I kindda doubted it, but that building was so packed) & RR wanted her ice cream. We decided to hit the :sulley: Monster's Inc playground :sulley: it was the only stamp RR got in Flower & Garden passport all day, but it's a monster plant so it's a good one.

:mickeybar RR's First Mickey Bar :mickeybar

It was SO FREAKING :sunny: HOT :sunny: which was why I wanted to eat it inside, but now we were outside and I already said she could have one. Sigh... It was worth the mess.

Playground Fail

So, once the mess was cleaned up RR finally hit the playground. I was soooo HOT so I can't accurately report how much time passed, but it wasn't very long.

RR climbed down from the playground & looked at me with the most pathetic look  She wouldn't speak for a minute or two and I knew something was wrong. She was just stunned.

Then she told me someone was mean to her. After some coaxing it came out that "A kid pushed me off what I was doing. He pushed me and yelled 'get away from me'"

She was heartbroken because she couldn't comprehend how someone at Disney could be mean to her. Poor Pumpkin.

I told her she did the right thing by not being unkind back and by telling Mommy. Between what happened to RR & the heat & MM's diaper we decided it was time to leave the playground.

We needed a time out.

She Got One!

I said earlier in my report I was bummed about not getting a Minnie ::MinnieMo picture, but DCiL did get one so here ya go:

10167974_10152350742054868_106311809_n.jpg

Now What?

We collected our frazzled gang and headed, where else? The baby center. I have to say. I liked the one in AK way better. The CM who greeted us seemed more like a bouncer than a host. We shuffled in hoping for cool air and cartoons. We got 1/2 of our hopes met. It was oddly muggy inside. :confused3

RR thought it was awesome in there. She played with the little Disney figures and watched the cartoons. Classic Goofy cartoons, my favorite. At one point she asked "whose house is this?" LOL :rotfl2:

DCiL seemed really overheated and tired, I suggested we go next door and ride the Mexico ride. Which is all Three Caballeros now and all about Donald :donald:.

Mexico

DCiL had been wanting to try the Mexican flan and reported it "wasn't great." It was cool and dark inside (but very loud). We had a very short wait to get on the ride maybe 2min. RR got a little anxious probably because of how dark it was in there compared to the bright sunlight :sunny: we came in from. Maybe she was remembering Maelstrom? Anyway the CM told her "Don't worry princess. It's not scary! It's Donald Duck." :donald:

The girls enjoyed our boat ride and the moms enjoyed the air conditioning. DCiL seemed to be perking up now and I was glad because I was so NOT done with Epcot.

Oops, Rewind

One important thing got left out. When we visited WDW for the first time as a family over the summer RR wore her Minnie ears :earsgirl: to EP of course. The first ride we went on was Nemo :fish: of course. The CM there was an older man who squeaked her mouse ear :earsgirl: with Disney magic pixiedust: It was one of the highlights of our trip.

In the afternoon before our M&G with Mulan we thought we'd try the Energy Ride and when we went over there we ran into our old CM friend! His name is Cliff and he squeaked both girls' mouse ears :earsgirl: Not only that, but he REMEMBERED us! It was amazing :) I should have taken his picture!

We actually left the line before they let us in because we decided to get to Mulan and eat sooner, but I was so glad to see him!

I can't believe I left that out! Sorry guys.

So Cool :cool1:

After the Mexico ride we left the World Showcase for the last time that day. RR remembered & demanded that we ride spaceship earth. :rotfl2: Whose kid demands Spaceship Earth? Oh my little nerds. Don't get me wrong I love Spaceship Earth, but for a kid to yell for it just makes me laugh.

So, earlier I was stunned that DCiL hadn't ever ridden Journey into Imagination :figment: being a big fan of Epcot, DCiL was surprised that I had never sampled the soda from around the world at Club Cool.

We stopped to watch the fountain for a bit and than we sampled some crazy sodas. I don't remember which ones. The last one smelled like banana, but it did NOT taste like banana :crazy2:

It was fun though, I can't believe I never did that before.

Gotta Get Back in Time!

It was finally time to grant RR's request & hit Spaceship Earth. I remembered from over the summer, where the out of the way wheelchair entrance was. I took RR to wait by the door & DCiL went to park the stroller. While they were hiking back to us I held the door and directed two other wheelchair parties to the ride. Honorary CM, right here. :)

Then we made our way on & took a lovely trip through time...

1374346_10152321029274868_640774903_n.jpg

Everyone enjoyed it :cheer2: RR was too short for the camera to see her so I held her up and apparently too close to me. As a result the figures had half my face half hers! :rotfl: It was ridiculous, I should have gotten a picture, but I was laughing too hard!

See ya Real Soon, Epcot

After we got off SE RR & I were still raring to go, but DCiL was worried about her dog :dog2: needing to be let out back home.

We debated our course of action for a bit. RR wanted to ride Body Wars. Is that gone? I never found it on the map? :confused3

Anyway, we grabbed some cold drinks & made our way back to the car in the end. :drive:

RR conked out in minutes again (sorry no funny picture this time). About 30min from home DC texted that he was home & had let the dog :dog2: out. Darn it! We could have stayed at WDW longer

Oh, well! We'll be back, RR & I still have another day left on our tickets...

Body Wars was in the Wonders of Life Pavilion, which closed in 2006 or 2007.

It was a good ride but pretty intense for little kids.

Nice! It closed before she was even born. :rotfl2:

I guess I'd been away from WDW longer than I thought!

Fast passes booked for our 4/30 MK day! :cool1: The Frozen M&G was gone this morning (duh!) so I'll try again for my Sept trip at 6am.

I got Cinderella & Rapunzel, Big Thunder & Splash Mountain. I think RR will be pleased. princess:

I may change Splash Mountain, to Haunted Mansion because that's RR's favorite, but I think we'll just hit it early in the day.

Now the countdown begins! :hourglass

After an adorable discussion with RR I changed our Splash Mountain fast pass to Enchanted Tales with Belle. :)

And speaking of changes! Cast Change!

Staying the same:

My DSis and I are close and she just moved into our area again, so it was times for a girls' WDW trip!

27 Days :hourglass

14 days!! :woohoo:

I miss WDW so much!! :sad1:

DSis's Ticket Arrived!!:donald:

And I got us these awesome filtered water bottles: :drinking1

I also had an interesting conversation with my DH:
Me: So...Are you going to get me a Disney Pass for Mother's Day?
DH: I know you had a dream about that.
Me: So, no then.
DH: Well, a dream is a wish your heart makes
Me: (laughing) very good. So, keep dreaming?
DH: No matter how your heart is grieving, if you keep on believing
Me: (laughing) Wow. Now you're getting my hopes up! pixiedust:

Here's a better & more recent picture of DSis & I

Thanks to Disboards I discovered Disney bounding and decided to do an Aurora inspired ensemble for the trip. Here are my Aurora nails:

Not sure if it's frowned upon or if nobody cares, but I'm going to change this TR's title...Is that weird? I think doing three day trips probably isn't the norm either. It's boring and I wasn't sure of the whole plan when I started.

AK & EP Adventures would be AK, EP, & MK Adventures in four days, so instead I'll edit it when I start posting about MK.

I'm in for an extended TR! Love the nails! (I can't stand the feel of nail polish or the taste of lipstick. I'm doomed to be a "natural beauty" I guess :goodvibes)

Conversation at dinner last night:

Me: Did you order the Disney tickets from Undercover Tourist yet? We want to get our Magic Bands for September.

DH: No.

Me: How come?!? I want to get out Magic Bands!!!! Let's get a move on!!!!

DH: Because you said you would pick them up at AAA on Saturday.

Me: **crickets chirping * *

My long awaited MK girl's day finally arrived! I made my first Disney spreadsheet to help me be in the right area for the parade and FP's without too much back tracking:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1S1Hj37fgfm_IBkrWcZuwBSAYORvmA9bdY2jNRYh5F8k/edit?usp=sharing

Although, RR and I watched "Tangled" earlier in the evening I decided to watch "Congo" right before bed and it was a bad call. I had nightmares and woke up screaming :scared: about a giant spider on the bedroom curtains!

I went back to sleep briefly before I got up with my alarm and quietly set to work on my (very first Disney bound ever) Aurora ensemble: Bright pink bubble tank top, light khaki shorts, sparkly gold hair tie, slightly curled ponytail, pink eye shadow and I already showed you the nails. Once I was dressed I called DSis to make sure she was moving. Then I woke RR up and asked her if she'd like to...you know...maybe...visit the Magic Kingdom today??:tink:

10252164_10152414180604868_4264126328376144387_n.jpg

Her outfit was a Rapunzel Disney bound (EVERYONE got it! Nobody noticed mine, but that's ok):
10014900_10152414180799868_6700116584274848739_n.jpg

10337692_10152414180834868_6704020954357920327_n.jpg

Isn't she just the perfect little Blondie? I think my outfit was too subtle if I had been able to find or make a gold crown barrette to go with my curled ponytail it would have been more obvious.

So, DSis arrives and I tell DH to throw the wheelchair in her car while we finished getting ready. He checked the tires the night before so it never occurred to me there would be a problem this morning...

FLAT TIRE :sad2:

Not, "This one needs a little air" flat, like "the tube inside is broken so every time I fill it it goes flat in minutes" flat. :scared: DH suggested waiting until a bike shop was open and getting it fixed but it was already getting late. I told him to throw the chair and my hand pump in the back and we'd deal with it. The way I saw it, we could either rent a chair when we got there or navigate the park with a flat all day.

We loaded up the car and swung through a Starbucks :coffee: where my free drink reward on my card was mysteriously missing...WHAT?!? It was fine I had enough on my card to cover breakfast no biggie, but it was feeling like "one of those" morning and it just couldn't be!

That's when DSis remembered she forgot something at her apartment. We picked it up (it was on the way to the interstate anyway so no biggie), but I was getting super antsy! :hourglass

Then we stopped for gas. I had a rewards card for 10cents off a gallon up to 20gals. I handed it out to DSis, she swiped..no, tried again...no, went inside..no. WHAT?!? Fine, full price gas it is grumble, grumble:mad:...Let's just go!!!

And then (FINALLY) we were off...:drive:

Thanks, I try to "just keep swimming" :fish:

:welcome: appleorchard (& anyone else who's joined us)!!

On the Road

I was so excited :thumbsup2 to finally be on the road in earnest! It flew by and although nothing will ever beat the hilarious-ness of RR insisting half asleep that she'd forgotten to wear any clothes to Epcot, I will note that we played "I Spy" for part of the drive and she kept saying "I spy with my yellow eye" :)

The Happy-est Sign on Earth

In what felt like minutes I saw this glorious sight! I almost wet myself literally & figuratively because I had a huge latte & We MADE IT!!! :cool1::cheer2::cool1:

10301131_10152414181129868_9167603671900496346_n.jpg

Let's just bask in this awesome sight for a moment...I posted this picture with the caption "Happy Explosion!!!"

We :cheer2: cheered all the way to a parking space!

First Stop

We hit the first rest stop we found. Everyone was bursting and I wanted to try to fill my tire after the trek from the car. I tried with DSis' help to pump it with the hand pump a few times and then decided that would be useless.

We decided renting a wheelchair would both waste valuable Disney time and make everyone think I was a faker (but mostly the former). Which is also why we had to get out of that bathroom and onto that ferry! :boat:

But not before our now traditional bathroom camera test!

10259757_10152414182239868_8082937899778204405_n.jpg

RR noted how the tiles matched her outfit! :cutie:

Getting In

I sadly noted, that it was after 10am. :sad2: My plans were pretty loose, but I do so love an early park arrival. Our first FP was for BTMR which is my favorite ride, not my favorite at MK or even WDW. My hands down favorite ride on the planet. :lovestruc Today was special, today was our very first visit since RR grew to amazing height of 40in!!! It would be her first ever ride on my favorite ride ever. So, we needed to book it of the ferry :boat: and over to Frontier Land!

Our FP window closed at 10:30am and there was NO WAY we were missing it. We made it to Frontier Land with DSis madly pushing the wheelchair through the crowds :crowded: on a completely flat tire while I held tight to RR in my lap and prayed for Disney Magic pixiedust:

We arrived at FP line at the last possible moment and on we went! I can't express the happy ;) I knew everything would be magical now. :tink:

Our new friend Debbie greeted us so cheerfully, it's like she KNEW this was the best moment of my life. She gave RR a high five for this being her first ride of the day & a double high five when she found out it was her first time on BTMR EVER. Debbie told us to come back later in the day when the crowd dies down and she'd let us ride twice in a row. I could just die of happy.

WaitingBTMR_zps01d5ec4f.jpg

Looking dubious as we waited...

RR got super worried :worried: as we were directed to the back row of the train. Debbie told her not to worry that it gets dark and loud for just a minute, nothing to be afraid of. We waved good bye to our first new friend of the day as we braced for "The Wildest Ride in the Wil-der-ness"!

RR adored it, as her DNA dictated she should, and talked about returning the whole rest of the day. :lovestruc

I will be smacking my head for life over NOT asking Debbie to snap a photo, duh! My baby's first BTMR trip and I have not one shred of photographic evidence, boo!

Finding the Fairies!

I was determined to meet some fairies :tink: When we came over the summer DH flat out veto-ed a visit. My kids (Even my 11DS) LOVE the Tinkerbell movies. We Pre-ordered "Pirate Fairy" and have been enjoying it in between "Frozen" viewings.

Now, I planned to go straight from BTMR to the Fairies, but Adventure land (and specifically Tinkerbell) was much farther away than it looked on the map. So, the nice thing about a girls trip is if you're confused no one minds asking for directions.

I waved over the first CM who walked by. It just happened she was traveling with a group of characters and CMs that included Briar Rabbit, Briar Bear, Clarabelle Cow and Horace Horsecollar. None of them even slowed their pace while we got directions or so I thought.

Next thing I knew Briar Rabbit hopped over and kissed me! Then he patted DSis on the head before skipping off towards Splash Mountain. Gotta love Disney :lovestruc

While Waiting for Tink

The wait time posted for the fairies was 30min when we arrived, but one look at the deserted queue and the excitement of the CM at the door when she realized we were headed her way told me it would be way shorter.

DSis and I were thrilled to find a bit of line inside so we could readjust our stuff, take a drink, have a snack and discuss what was next. Yay, multitasking!

10174812_10152414182809868_864174048979324182_n.jpg

10336775_10152414182834868_1506987670274353296_n.jpg

In the second one I was trying to get MDE to work, which of course it was refusing to do so, OF. Course. I finally got it going by the end of the line. This is also the only picture where you can kindda see my gold sparkly hair tie.

(mis)Identifying Fairies

My house was well versed in the residents of Pixie Hollow, but DSis learned their names as we inched through the line. In about 15mins we were up (take that posted wait time!).

As we got to the doorway I smiled at the CM who seemed a bit sleepy and she said nothing...So, I said "Ok, RR get ready to shrink to fairy size" and her eyes widened in amazement. Then the CM joined in explaining to be very careful NOT to step through too soon or she'd be stuck a few inches tall all day! That was more like it! :tink:

Then we all shrunk to fairy size and took in the Magical Nook for the very first time...So, adorable.

There was Rosetta (RR's second favorite fairy! She's a hardcore Periwinkle lover.) DSis (just as Rosetta sashayed over) said "Oh, is it Fawn?"

To which Rosetta replied "Do I Look like an animal fairy?!? I don't think so, Honey." I almost died. :rotfl: Bonus points to the Photo Pass Photographer for catching the moment on film.

Now they're discussing when Rosetta had animal fairy powers and all the bugs crawled on her and she was like "ew! ew! ew!" (Pirate Fairy)

After they chatted I jumped in for some pictures and I must say they were some of the best all day.

Two Tinkers

After some hugs with Rosetta that transferred some pixie dust onto Miss RR pixiedust: :) :tink: It was time to see Peter Pan's Bestie...

10155336_10152414185299868_6961620808735051144_n.jpg

They discussed lost things, tinkering and how much RR loves :lovestruc Tink's movies! They even talked about how fun it is to be fairy sized. :tink:

10168114_10152414186034868_1624836917700807903_n.jpg

There were more hugs and a fresh layer of pixie dust pixiedust:! Then it was time to grow back to human size.
