UPH Question. Has anyone tried this?

We currently have a room only reservation in May for 3 nights, on the Disney Visa deal. I would like the UPH pass, but will not be utilizing the last day, as we leave early for the airport. CM would not sell 2 nights of a UPH as we are staying for 3 nights.

Has anyone ever made 2 seperate reservations, one for 2 nights and UPHs, and one for 1 night no passes. Can these be made under the same name? Can they be linked to get the same room for 3 nights? Does the Disney Visa deal work for a 2 night or 1 night stay?

Thanks for the replies!

You can also get the extra day taken off the UPHs if you wait to buy them when you check in. I think you can do it the other way, too, but it might be easier and less stressful (not having to worry about changing rooms for the last night) if you wait until checkin.

I believe at the resort if you go to guest services you can buy the UPH less the last day - just cannot do it in advance. This would IMO be easier than making 2 reservations.

Yes, it happens all the time.

Yes

They can be linked but they will warn you that you may have to change rooms. But I can't honestly remember that happening more than two or three times over the course many years. But they cover themselves by telling you that you might have to move.

Don't know. Some discounts have minimum stays (usually 3 nights) attached to them but not always. Don't know what the terms of the DV deal are.

Because you are only staying 2 days (there abouts) you may want to price compare regular park hoppers. They could be very comparable, and UPH expire when you leave, regular or PH Plus do not. Unless you are wanting to park hop, water park and PI in those 2 days. But still, price compare. If you are near a Disney Store in a mall, advance tickets are less than at guest services, also.

We've had CM's drop the first and/or last day when we bought the UPH's at the front desk.

When you wait to add them at the desk and drop a day then you do not get the discounted price. I figured out the difference and the savings is minimal, but if you know for sure you won't go to the park at all then any savings would be good, but it's not a large savings....I guess that's what I am trying to say! It's too early in the morning.

If I understand your questions correctly:

Yes, you can make 2 separate reservations under the same name using the Disney Visa room only deal: one for 2 nights with UPH and 1 without any tickets. You can request at check in to stay in the same room for the entire length of stay but they do have the right to move you (I think they try very hard to leave you in place if possible).

I agree with the others below: price out PH passes thru the discount sites to see if the UPH or regular passes would make more sense for your situation (remember, any days left on your regular passes can be used on your next trip; UPH expire midnight of the night you check out)

Yes! I did that. We made a ressie for Jan 3-7 with the UPH pass ("lengh of stay pass", as he quoted it.) This was not a package. I requested room only with a lenth of stay pass. Then I made a ressie for the night of the 7th, room only. The UPH pass was good until midnight on the 7th. Since we had to leave early on the 8th, it was perfect for us. When we made the ressies, the CM noted that we wanted the same room back to back. (But, it is possible that you would have to change rooms.) It was easy. Actually, when we checked in, we were told that it would not be necessary for us to move, and they told us at that time exactly how to check in/check out. We did early checkout the night before, and they issued us a new pass key for the last day. We just couldn't charge anything else to the first pass key. No big deal. The first pass key with the UPH pass was still good until midnight on the 7th for entrance to the parks. We wanted the added feature of unlimited hopping around and unlimited access to disney quest and the water parks. While the freedom to hop was nice, in all honesty, I overestimated how much we could actually do in a day without running ourselves to death, and next time we will probably get the parkhopper plus and I will just have to bite the bullet and plan a little more. Anyway, hope you have a wonderful time!
