UPH pass questions

I have a question about UPH passes.

I am going to arrive in FL on Dec 1st around midnight. I will spend that night at an offsite motel. I check into Pop Century Dec 2cnd and check out on Dec 5th. I will be staying for 3 nights on the dreammaker package which gives us UPH passes.

The question I have is, can I not use the UPH passes until my check in time at 3:00 pm on Dec 2cnd? Or could I go to pick them up at POP before my check in time, leave my luggage there (or just keep it in our car) and go to the parks until they close and then check in in the evening?

Are my passes then good until midnight on 12/5? Or are they only good from check in - check out?

Thanks
Sheri

You nust first check in to get your UPH. However, you can check in on the morning of 12/2, before going to the park. They will hold your luggage at the resort until your room is ready. You can go to the parks, stay all day, and come back at night and find out what room you are in (I believe they will actually give you a number you can call after 3:00 pm to find out your room number).

The UPH is good from the monent of check in until midnight on the day of check out.

you can "check in" at 12:01am if you want on Dec 2nd.

your room will not be ready - but you'll have your passes in hand.

they'll hold your luggage for you...you can just pick it up later that day when you go to your room (or leave it in your car like you mentioned - might make for less hassle later on)

Thanks. heehehe we are actually going to be arriving in Orlando pretty close to 12:01 am on Dec 2 :) wonder if anyone has ever actually tried that ;)

Yes, I read a trip report where they checked in at 11ish, went to DTD and went into Pleasure Island after midnight, when their UPHs were activated (the writer had the first day taken off the past because they were so late arriving so it didn't actually activate until after midnight).

So, you can actually check in at 12:01am? I thought 6:00am was the earliest?

That would work out a lot easier for me! I'm much more of a night person, and I'm doing a split stay. It would be easier for me (not to mention increasing my chances of getting room requests) to check in right after midnight!

hmmm...ok - I might have just have been being funny with the 12:01 am. I don't know if the front desk is manned that late at night...I could be 100% wrong. And I apologize if I've misled people. (bad stinkerbelle...bad bad...)

I think it's best to call the resort you are staying at and speak to them on as to how early you can check in.

I'm sorry!

It's not a problem, I was just curious. If I have to drag my butt out of bed that early, it's my own issue! :)

You can check in at 12:01, but they'll still charge you for that night's accomodation. They won't charge you for the extra day on your UMH. Since it's not a problem to get the extra day taken off your pass when you check in, check in when you get there.

In the instance I was talking about, he checked in at 11 pm. Paid for the hotel stay, including that night, but asked that the UMH's not start until the next day. Then he went to Pleasure Island after midnight and the UMH worked becuase they technically run midnight to midnight.

I always do that in time for getting to a park for EE. In fact, I just called about it today. When we stayed at the Contemporary a couple years ago they didn't start working at the desk until 7:00. I got there at 6:30 and had to wait. That was in 2001. I know we checked into the Boardwalk Inn about 7:00ish in December and they were standing there already.

I just called today about our trip in July. We're staying at OKW and they are there 24/7. I don't know if they changed their policies since the Contemporary experience, or if OKW is manned 24/7 because it's DVC property.

So the long and short is that I think I'd call just to be certain. If you can't check in at 12:01, you might want that extra sleep rather than running over there to find out, but again, if they are manning the desk, I would think it's your right to have your whole day ticket!!!

I'm not talking about checking in at 12:01. But I do want to go to PC around 8 AM on Thursday (Thursday night is my first night) and get my UPH passes to use that day at the park. It says I can't check in to the room until 3 pm.

Can I not do this? Will I be charged for Weds Night??

ok - you are staying offsite on Dec1. Dec 2 you check into POP and want to use your passes that day - no problem

Check in might not be until 3...but trust me...people check in all the time first thing in the AM...your room will not be ready (like i stated earlier).

You will be fine. Wake up on Thursday, drive to POP around 8am, get your hopper pass, leave your luggage/car at POP, and go enjoy the park.

You're fine! (sorry we were confusing people with 12:01am...I thought i was just being funny. heheh)

Yes you can do this. You will be "checking-in" at 8ish when you arrive at PC, but I doubt your room will be ready. They will store your stuff and give you your room key/uph pass at that time. You will not be charged for the previous night by checking in at 8am in the morning.

When you return to the resort go back to the front desk or call a designated number they will have given you and get your room number. Go to the room and call bell services to bring the things you stored earlier.

Clear as mud?
