UPH Discount

Sorry if this was covered in the Annual Pass Thread, but do we still get a 10% discount on the UPH passes. We cannot use the AP perk, we only go everyother year. So the UPH is the best plan for us.

There has been no announcement suggesting discontinuing the UPH discount and offering the discount costs little/nothing to continue. I'd be surprised if it were stopped.

That discount has been around since 1996 - even while the free passes were still used by early buyers, so I can't see it disappearing at this time. It does still offer another option for those unable to enjoy the new AP discount.

As Doc noted, there has been no announcement. Personally I expect that discount to end soon.

Why would it end? There is minimal cost to Disney for the discount and, unless no one chooses that option any longer, there is no reason to discontinue a perk that has been in place for almost 10 years. I expect it to remain in it's current form.

I think it would be tough for DVC to end that perk unless they come up with a way for members to get the advance purchase pricing. Right now, the 10% discount probably nets out to 3-4% when you figure that DVC members are ineligible for the advance purchase rates.

Of course, it's nice being able to save the full 10% and still drop the arrival and/or departure day.

The reason I expect it to end is that I would expect Disney to want to steer members toward the new perks. Also for DVC to want to minimize the options. We shall see.

I called MS yesterday to add requests to my reservation for later in December. While on the phone I also inquired about the discount and was told there were no plans currently to discontinue it.

Thanks everyone for your replys, it would be great if they kept this discount, for us we cannot use the AP discount and this is a good option. I guess we will see, we do not go to WDW till August, but I am a planner and want to have the money saved for the tickets before we go.
