Upgrading

I will be arriving in WDW on Thanksgiving Day and staying for 9 nights at POP. I am thinking of upgrading to either a Moderate or Deluxe resort. Is there a minimum amount of nights that you have to use and how do I go about doing this. I want to surprise my wife also with this, can anyone give me some ideas and point me in the right direction?

Disney is fine with you upgrading your reservation. I don't know how it would work if you are on a package however. We always book room only since we have AP's. I'd call them, 800-828-0228 and see what is available. I don't know how booked it will be when you plan on going , that might affect what is available. Another thing would be to do a split stay, so many days at the POP then move to a moderate or deluxe. That would, however, entail another deposit. HTH

I called disney yesterday when the codes came out and worked with a great CM who checked the costs for me and I upgraded from value to moderate, with the code I am only paying $50 more total for the package, they just switched my hotel for me, same ressie number, same ADRs etc. No problem, call and ask for what works for you. Thanks for the info, Now where can I find all the codes? I am also purchasing AP's for my week because I plan on returning in January

The codes unfortunately don't apply to passholders, but if you do become a passholder you will have access to their "Best Rate Program" which I am still on the fence about. It is booked online for travel no sooner than 60 days out. I currently have a reservation at CR for April'06, I guess if the "old" codes for AP's don't come out I'll get Sue Ellen with DU to switch me over to Best Rate. The general codes are posted somewhere on this board, maybe on the home page? Since they didn't apply to me I haven't really kept up with them, Sorry.
