Upgrading?

Im booking through disneyholidays, and was wondering if i book for the Santa Fe hotel now, and in a few months we are able to afford a little extra and i want to upgrade to the Newport bay hotel is that possible? What will the upgrade charge be like? And is there anything i need to know about doing this?

Is it cheaper upgrading rather than booking booking newport bay originally? Or will the upgrade cost be the difference in price?

If you mean booking direct with Disney yes you can upgrade but it will be the difference in price so if you book the Santa Fe on a deal (discounted) then the difference could be bigger if there are no current deals when you want to upgrade.

Not sure of the case booking through different companies

Some companies charge a fee to amend / change bookings too!
It cost me £30 or £40 with Disneylandparisdirect to change my booking from Jan 15 to Nov 14 even though we were paying more. Kind of sorry I didn't go with Disney - you know you could ring Disney and pay a deposit with the rest due a month before you travel? I think you pay 15% but I'm not totally certain. You could then upgrade if/when you want to but as Nikki said bear in mind that the original offer could be different and the price difference to upgrade could be considerably more.
We did this for our trip next month so I'll be ringing DLP to pay the balance in the next few days.

If the price for the Newport is something you can afford comfortably then go for it but to be fair the SF is a great hotel now its been done up.
