Ok...sounds like if you have an Annual Pass, you still have to buy a one day ticket to get the dining plan? Or is that only to get the free dining plan? We're going in Jan/Feb 08, so it won't be free, but I think it would be a good idea for my family.....that way we can try any restaurant we want without the worry about the cost since it's set and paid for already.

So I'm going to buy an Annual Pass voucher now, so I have it to get the room rates if they're better than AAA. If I have to buy one day passes can I combine them and use them to buy a longer ticket? My husband won't be here for the entire trip, and he's said he doesn't want an annual (he's a workaholic, lol...so we travel a lot without him). So I was thinking we could use the 4 one days we have to buy and combine them into a longer term one. If my math is right (and I know I haven't included tax, but it's just a ball park idea here).....a one day is $67...so times 4 is $268. We'll need an annual pass for each of the kids (I'll have mine since I'm getting it now to get the room rates).....and DH will need a 4 or 5 days pass. So could I use that $268 credit towards all these other expenses?

Is there a better plan that I haven't thought of? In the end we'll need 3 annual passes (me, DD11, DD11) and 4 or 5 days at least for DH. The annual passes will have Hopper of course, but I don't think we'll really need it with DH....he'll be happy to just do one park a day, and since we're going ahead of him, we'll have scoped out what he'll enjoy ahead of time.

The DDP is an addon to a package which includes room + tickets. Everyone on the reservation must book the same tickets. You must get at least 1-day base tickets.

No. The rule is one ticket per upgrade. You cannot combine the value of several tickets towards the purchase of a single pass. Also keep in mind that the AP discount is for room-only reservations. If you want the DDP, you must book a package. The AP discount cannot be applied.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it is my understanding that not only can 2 or more tickets not be combined toward 1 upgraded ticket (i.e. more days, hopper etc) but you also cannot get the dining plan at anything but rack rate so you would not be able to use your AP discount on the room and book the dining plan. If the DP is the most important, maybe you could book through AAA to get some kind of room discount and save the 1 day tix you would have to buy toward another trip? Also, you could save the one day tix and apply them towards teh AP renewal if you plan on renewing (note you could only do this 1 to 1, so one ticket towards each AP renewal). Of course your husband could upgrade his immediately to a 5 dya and use it that trip, even if the rest of you just hung on to yours.

Since there are no discounts on packages with the dining plan that having an annual pass can achieve, you may as well not order annual pass (vouchers) in advance. After you check in, take the identically ordered tickets that came with the package to any park and upgrade them individually to AP's or whatever the person needs. No extra loose tickets lying around awaiting a future vacation.

and as I understand it, you do not need an AP in hand to book an AP rate on a room, just need to have by time of check in for them to verify you have one meaning you can actually buy it once you get there.

no, tickets can not be combined but each 1 day pass on your package can be applied to each AP you wish to buy. And your DH's one day pass can be upgraded to a 4-5 day ticket or whatever he will need. do this at the parks or after check in sperately tho since everyone on a package is suppose to get the same ticket to buy the package. You can have your 1 day passes seperated out onto a different pass (sperate from room key) to do this.

hope this makes sense.
