I am curious if I can upgrade my myw tickets to include the dining after I have already purchased them? Also, I have been trying to soak in as much as possible before my first trip to disney world. I am curious if I did the dining plan are there limits on what I can purchase? Is there a special menu for people using this plan? I am just curious because based on some of the prices of meals ( some exceed the 35 dollars a day disney charges for the tickets) I would assume there has to be? Anyways any dining tips are greatly appreciated. Also is it wise to book a restaurant before hand. The reason is My wife and I are spontaneous people when it comes to eating and do not like to be forced into a time line. Thank you all!

One more thing, which restaurants are buffets? Any seafood buffets? Thank you.

You can only use the dining plan if you booked your ROOM and tickets through Disney as a pacakge. (or through AAA).

There is not a special menu, aside from the snacks, but there is a list of restaurants that will accept the dining plan.

Check out www.allearsnet.com for menus for ALL restaurants. Also, a book called the Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World (by Bob Sehlinger) has extensive dining info including tables that group restaurants by the type of food served. Some will disagree, but the Unofficial Guide is the one guidebook I would recommend above and beyond the rest. It's 900+ pages of really valuable tips and invo.

There are many buffets at WDW. Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club resort has a seafood buffet at dinnertime. The Beach Club is easy to reach because it's only about a 5-10 minute walk outside of Epcot. Aside from the front entrance to Epcot there is a back gate called the International Gateway. The IG is back between the England and France pavilions in the World Showcase. Walk straight out the IG and the Beach Club is just up to the left. You can't miss it. If you plan a night at Epcot to see the Illuminations fireworks show, it's a great time to have dinner at Cape May.

I've also read good things about the Coral Reef reastaurant within Epcot (which also serves seafood), but it is not a buffet.

Your travel agent should be able to add the dining plan for you unless you had some sort of special room rate.

oH and ditto to the above poster!

So lets say I goto Coral Reef and order the Grilled atlantic salmon and drink and desert it appears the total would be 24 + whatever the drink and desert are. Now if I had the dining pass would I beable to order this and it count? Or would I have to pay more?

As long as coral Reef is on the plan it would be covered including tax and tip. Some restaurants would use up 2 of your table service credits and Coral Reef is one of them.

Each day each person in your party gets one snack, one counter service and one sit down.. sit down includes appetizer, entree and desert and non alc. beverage, tax and tip. Everyone in your party must be on the plan. 35/day for adults 10/day for kids

Here is a brochure you can download and /or print http://adisneyworld.disney.go.com/m...gespecific/eng/nontheme/tickets/MYWDining.pdf

Some of the more expensive restaurants and also the HOop De Doo Review and the Lu'au use two, because they are considered Signature dining.

So when you say it uses up 2 table service credits why is that?

Print and read the MYW Dining brochure that's linked in the above post.

Some of the more expensive restaurants are "signature" restaurants. Those restaurants require 2 table service credits.

I think I get it , its because it is a signature restaurant. This gets a bit confusing! Thank you all for helping me wade through it.
