Upgrading to DVC Gold Annual Pass

In the My Disney app I got a notice that I can apply the cost of my recently used tickets to an AP. The issue is you can't select DVC as an option so the only way you get the Gold option is if you select Florida resident. I've call DVC and AP lines and neither of them can figure it out. Has anyone had any luck online applying your ticket's cost to a DVC Gold AP? I know the Gold FL residents AP and DVC AP are the same cost and basically the same thing, but I would hate to show up to get the AP and then run into an issue because I'm not an FL resident.

You must be signed into you MDE account as a DVC member. You may need to upgrade the ticket via the member website. You could chat with MS via the member website.

Do you have your blue member card? You may need that if you plan to do it at WDW. But if you used your ticket a while ago and are no longer at the theme park, how can you upgrade a used ticket?
