upgrading to AP

If you go to the ticket booths to upgrade a "Give a Day" voucher for an AP, what do they give you so that you can go thru the turnstiles and go to the processing center to take your picture and get your actual pass?

Also, if your state issued driver's license has your old address on it, do you have to prove where you live now or do you just tell them your new address?

I think you have to bring the voucher to the ticket booth anyway to get in so I can just upgrade it then and there, but I was just wondering what paperwork they give you.

Can you buy an AP (with the GAD voucher) on a black out day? Do they still let you in for that one day or at least to get the AP inside?

You must have proof of address to get a So Cal AP, otherwise you will have to buy a Deluxe or Premium and you cannot downgrade later. You will need an ID with your current So Cal address or you will need something along the lines of an electric bill, a cell phone bill will not work, at least that's what I was told.
If you're upgrading just do that once your in, take your GAD ticket and get in the park, then head over the to AP processing center anytime before you leave (early-late afternoon is the best time to experience a low wait for this, if you go early in the morning or right before closing the line will be huge) and you can upgrade there, they will process your photo and payment at the same time.

Yes, if you upgrade on a blackout day you have access to both parks that day. I know because I've done it.

I'm not trying to get a Socal AP, just a deluxe, because I do not live in SoCal. I was just wondering if you have to give them your address, is it a problem if your ID has your old address on it?

Also, I thought you had to bring the Give a Day voucher to the ticket booth to get in, or can you just use that voucher printout at the turnstiles?

I think I'm going to have to trade me GAD for either FP or the figurine. We are arriving Friday, March 19. We wanted to spend a half day in the park that day. But we can't use our GAD to upgrade to an AP (we're planning another trip in May with another teen) on that day because Sat, the 20th, is a blockout day for DAP. Or,

Can we use the GAD on friday, upgrade to 4 day hoppers, then upgrade on Sat to AP? no, crap, that would be kinda useless because the gate prices are so high. Hmm, I guess we just buy the hoppers, use the GAD for FP and/or figurine (3 of us are volunteering), then upgrade the PH to AP on Saturday? Too bad I can't figure out a way to actually reduce the price of the AP but still be able to get in on March 20 .

Buy the 4 day PH and you can apply your unused GAT ticket to the PH when you upgrade to an AP.

Gotcha. I don't know if having an old address on your ID means anything, our address has been correct on our ID for 7 years now. Sorry.....
