Upgrading to AP question

If I upgrade to AP when we arrive in April from our 6 day park hopper passes....do I pay the difference of the cost from 6 day park to AP or do I have to pay full price of the AP in addition to the 6 day tickets I have.

Have the 6 day passes been used, or are they new passes? You can only upgrade passes within 14 days of first use, even if they are non-expiring passes.

If they are unused, and you puchased from Disney, you will receive full credit and pay the difference between the 6 day price and the DVC AP price. If you purchased them through a discounter, use one day on the pass, then upgrade them to receive the current gate price rather than the discounted price you paid.
