We booked Boardwalk for April and my wife and I have parkhoppers for 7 days. We wanted to upgrade to Annual Passes (gold - with blackout dates) and found it is $549 per person. We were told that we can go to any customer service booth at a park entrance and they can upgrade us, essentially giving us the credit for the park pass portion of our reservation (I think with park hopper option it came to roughly $830), which means that we should be able to pay less than $300 to upgrade to annual passholder status the day we arrive. Anyone have experience with this? Seems like a good deal, considering you get the Memory Maker as part of it. Thanks for any feedback.

7-day tickets with park hopper are worth $424.94 after tax. A Gold pass is $584.69 after tax. The difference is $159.75, so for two people, you're looking at $319.50 in total to upgrade both tickets.

The Gold pass is only an option if you're a DVC member or a Florida resident, so bring IDs for both of you and either a DVC card or proof of FL residency. Any park ticket booth can do the upgrade, as can Guest Relations.

If your tickets weren't purchased directly from Disney (or if they're part of a package), make sure the CM price bridges them.
