Just got back from a wonderful WDW vacation today and wanted to let everyone know about the new issues with upgrading tickets.
I wanted to upgrade to PAPs and was told by guest relations at AK that it could not be done until the last day of our trip as their new system would delete our room reservations and dining plan if our tickets were taken off our room key. This wouldn't work for me as then we would have no days left on our tickets and would not be able to apply the money toward the PAPs.
I went to the concierge (sp?) at POR to get more informatin. Yes, it was true. They could no longer upgrade tickets off room keys. He went and checked with his manager to see what they could do, and then he did something on the computer that took our tickets off so that we could upgrade, but even then, when we tried to use our dining plan, it had been deleted from the system and I had to go back to concierge to get new room keys. So just a word of warning, if you want to upgrade, make sure that you request that your tickets be seperate from your room keys.
Had a great trip though! Can't wait to go back!!
