Upgrading tickets w/new reservation system?

I bought 2-day passes and reserved dates, but now want to add a 3rd day. I believe normal procedure would be to just add a day at the gate, but this doesn't seem possible with the new reservation system. Anyone have experience with how to upgrade during this new process?

It should be possible. You can still reserve dates separately from buying your tickets. You need to do this if you buy from a 3rd party.

You can’t make a reservation without linking a ticket. Without already having a 3 day park-hopper, you won’t be able to reserve a 3rd day.

OP - Try calling guest services. From what others have posted, the only sure way to make ticket changes is at the ticket booth. Others have had mixed results with trying to make ticket changes over the phone. In general, it sounds like making changes to a ticket results in a new ticket being issued and reservations under the old ticket being canceled. If there are still reservations available for all the dates you want to go, it’s better to try to make the changes now.

I should clarify "possible". I guess it's possible to upgrade at the gate, but it's pretty stressful to to just wait until our trip to see if there is availability to extend.
More info: We purchased 2-day tickets and reserved for July 9-10. We'd now like to add an additional day to make them 3-day tickets (for an increase of $76). The additional day we'd like to add/reserve is July 8. If we just bought a single day ticket and reserved for the 8th, it's $139. It's a $63 savings if we can figure out how to just upgrade the 2-day to 3-day, but we for sure don't want to just wait until July 8 and hope there's availability that day to upgrade at the gate.

thank you for this info
Currently on hold with guest services. It's a 2-hour+ wait so just trying to resolve the issue on my own while I wait. ;)

I had this problem and was able to call and get the tickets canceled/refunded so that I could purchase a new multi-day ticket.
