Upgrading tickets to AP

What are the rules regarding upgrading MYW passes to AP's? I bought four MYW passes today before the price increase. There's a small chance we might want AP's instead but I didn't want to buy them now when I'm not sure we can go again within a year. Can I upgrade them at the parks if I decide AP's are best?

Does anyone know how much of a credit you can get if you want to upgrade from a partially used MYW pass (10 Day Park Hopper Non-Expiry with 5 or 6 days left) to an annual pass?

psupple - they'll take your MYW ticket towards your AP, and the AP's expiration date will be one year from the date of the MYW ticket's first use.

According to Deb over on Allearsnet.com that's not the way it always works.

IF you do it within 14 days then they do backdate, if not you get a prorated value towards the AP cost which is effective on the date of purchase.

You cannot "upgrade" a partially used ticket after the 14-day window has passed. Instead, you trade it in for a dollar credit towards purchase of a new AP. The new AP starts the day you buy it.

Dollar value of a partialy-used ticket is determined by how much you actually paid for it. Take the original price, divide by the number of days the ticket was when new, and that's how much each remaining unused day is worth. Unused Plus options have no trade-in value.
