Upgrading tickets question

What is the reason that Disney wont allow you to upgrade tickets that are linked in MDE and not used over the phone? Just curious thats all!

There have been very sparse reports (one, that I know of) when they took back the tickets which had been purchased and allowed new (longer) tickets to be purchased.

You can certainly ask nicely...
But, do not expect that to happen, however.
