Upgrading ticket with Ebates/Orbitz offer

Fairly new to this as we usually buy AP's with our DVC discount. I have AP, but we need a hopper for my husband. Saw that Orbitz is offering 10% on activity purchases on Ebates. So here is my question. If we buy their 3 + 2 hopper pass and then decide we want to upgrade it to 6 or 7 days will Disney only charge the difference between a 5 & 7 day hopper? If so this will only be about an additional $20 and I would be getting a $34 rebate. I do understand that I should activate and use the pass at least once before upgrading?? thanks for any input.

Yes you can upgrade the ticket and just pay the difference. I bought the 3+2 orbitz voucher (using ebates!) and upgraded the ticket to a 6 day hopper before i used it. No problem at all. Cost me an additional $10.26.
