Upgrading Special Priced Convention Ticket to AP?

Apologies if this has been answered previously (I couldn't find it in the threads), but is it possible to upgrade a special priced convention ticket to an AP? If so, what is the usual procedure -- do they make you pay the difference to a standard ticket? I am going in March for Mini-Gay days, and also at the end of the year.

It sounds like last year, guests that upgraded discounted Gay Days tickets were given the full value (gate price) of the ticket towards the purchase of an AP. See these threads:

That being said, things can change without notice. DLR is not known for "bridging" prices, so it's best to be prepared to only get the amount you paid for the ticket applied to the upgrade.
