Upgrading qsp to basic help!

Light here's the run down.... We are family of six, 4 Disney adults and 2 Disney children. We are staying at AoA and got free dining, so quick service. Which is great! But I thought maybe I'd upgrade to the basic, before booking I priced out each of these and thought (pretty sure) the difference was around 400.
Ok now I have a TA and asked her to give me the price for the upgrade, first I got a 840$ additional. I told her I wasn't sure that was right for six nights. So she re-asked another cm and got 740. Ok better but still not where I thought it should be. Plus it has me a little worried that she got two different prices. Even when I do the math from price difference of quick to basic I get 444$.
Could someone tell me what I'm missing. This is our first time doing the ddp, so I'm wondering what i don't understand.

The upgrade cost for your party size and makeup is about $74 per night.
Not sure how many nights you are booked for, I'm guessing six since you came up with $444.

Not sure why the number is coming up different when your TA quotes it.

At first I thought maybe she was quoting you without the free dining code (since the booking deadline for free dining has passed and maybe she couldn't figure out how to adjust your package without rebooking?), but if that was the case, she'd have come up with a much higher figure than $740-$840.

Yes 6 nights. I'm glad you sound as confused as me! I'm thinking she's crazy or I'm missing some other fee??

I don't know if she's crazy, but it does seem she is missing something, or there is some other issue she has failed to explain (like, she isn't adjusting your original package but rather quoting a new one with a resort discount and paid dining plan, or something like that...?). I haven't ever run into an issue with WDW Travel Co when trying to adjust a package to upgrade the dining - haven't ever been forced to rebook for that particular thing, just had the upcharge added to the total due. I'd expect a problem if changing the arrival date, shortening the trip, etc - since technically those would require a new booking outside of the promotional deadline, but not for your particular issue. Hope you can get it worked out!

Thanks I don't literally mean she's crazy! Just something is getting mixed up on my end or hers. She's been calling in to wdw for the quotes so I'm guessing they are not processing the quite right?

I would show her how you calculated it so she understands what the difference should be and then you shouldn't have to keep going back and forth with calling.

I'm not sure of your dates. Last peak period in 2012 is December 21–31. Here's the cost increase from QSDP to DDP in 2012:

Adult non-peak: $16.55 per night
Child non-peak: $3.03 per night

Adult peak: $18.55 per night
Child peak: $4.03 per night​

Your 4 Adults (non-peak) -- $16.55 ea. x 4 = $66.20 x 6 Nites = $397.20
Your 2 Children (non-peak) -- $3.03 ea. x 2 = $6.06 x 6 Nites = $36.36
Non-Peak Total $433.56

There is no tax charged on the Dining Plan portion of your resort reservation (FYI). Peak costs are $2 more/day each Adult, $1 more/day each Child. Note: This year DDP comes with the Refillable Mug.
