This question is for my sister who is going to Disneyland next week. I'm pretty sure I know the answer, but she asked if I'd check with someone who has recently done this...

Is the amount you pay for the ticket printed on the ticket? She wants to upgrade to an AP and thought if she bought the discounted park hopper that she'd save some money. I thought that they know what you paid for it and you'd end up paying the actual price for the AP no matter if the hopper was discounted or not. Any experience?

The amount paid is printed on the ticket. Last Dec, I had a 3-day PH that I got at the advance price of $119. I took that ticket to the "bank" on Main Street and upgraded to a Deluxe AP (with a DVC discount ;) ). I was given credit for my $119 ticket and paid the difference with a credit card. With my DVC discount, the difference came to $70.

FYI, I did this between the time the turnstiles opened and rope drop on a Thursday morning and I was the ONLY person in the AP office. Took me five minutes, tops.

HTH!
