Hi! It is really a personal decision, as to whether the lagoon view is worth spending the money on to upgrade. We have stayed in a garden view room at the GF before, and were put in a marina view room in Conch Key. It was fine, kind of neat getting to see the marina, but there was a big crane across the way, which was not really in keeping with the whole Disney thing...
The problem with paying for a lagoon view is that you're not guaranteed a MK view, so consider whether you may end up feeling upset if you get, say, a Wedding Pavilion view instead. You could also always ask for a complimentary upgrade, and see what happens. I have heard of those happening more at the Yacht Club than at the GF, but it's worth a try. I wouldn't count on this, though, so if you think you'll be really disappointed without the lagoon view, then definitely spend the money.
Something else to think about is how much time you will spend in the room. Some people like getting room service for breakfast and taking it on the balcony. If you think you'll use the balcony fairly often, then you would get better value for the money.
Just some things to consider - ultimately, of course, the decision as to whether it's worth the extra money is up to you.
