Hi everyone! We booked a VGT stateroom for an upcoming cruise. We received our stateroom assignment! I am just wondering, if anything is still available, would we have the opportunity to pay for an upgrade at the Port upon arrival? I wasn't sure if they allowed guests in these restricted fare rooms to pay for day-of upgrades. Thank you for your feedback!

Yes, we did a VGT on Wish late April this year and upgraded to a Concierge Family Stateroom (Cat 3B) at check-in

What would be the chance to score an upgrade with a 12:15 PAT on the Dream? We are on the Thanksgiving cruise so it may not even be worth trying since the ship will probably be full but we have a VGT so I’d love to look at getting a bigger/better balcony cabin depending on what we’re assigned.

On the Dream? I would say not likely especially if you already have a VGT to have a verandah room open that is better than what you are assigned is not high, especially on a holiday sailings without a very early PAT and BG. Can I ask what BG you were given?

We got BG 15. From what I read the Dream doesn’t start embarkation in FLL until 11AM so I was hopeful we might be able to snag something. I don’t think it will be worth it to try and go to concierge.

Unfortunately I was managing check in solo since I was on a work trip and my wife had the kids by herself so I wasn’t going to ask her to stay up until midnight to help and I had to prioritize the Royal Gathering over an earlier PAT.

Truthfully, anything after group 10 is kind of difficult to get an upgrade and especially on a holiday sailing. You might luck out But it is a holiday sailing so I would not expect it. Fingers crossed for you.

That makes total sense. I’ve been checking to see if we can move that PAT earlier but nothing yet. We will just be happy to be on the ship as it’s our first Disney cruise and we are super excited to finally try it out.

I’ve wanted to sail with them since 1998 when I first saw it as a kid but my mom absolutely refused to consider Disney because they didn’t have a casino and when we went on a cruise that was one of her primary activities. Now that I’m an adult with my own kids (who love WDW) my wife and I are very excited to sail in just a few weeks!
